Feature Article - Milwaukee Medical Clinic

 

I have extensive experience writing various types of feature stories and case histories.  The sample at right is an article that I ghostwrote on behalf of a dermatologist from the Milwaukee Medical Clinic explaining how the sun can prematurely age a person’s skin and the preventative methods that he recommends to avoid this problem.  It was one of a series of various health articles that I wrote for several different specialists at the clinic.  All articles were published in various Milwaukee-area newspapers and then reprinted as standalone handouts for distribution at the clinic and at presentations given by the doctors.  To read the full story, click the PDF icon below.

New Product Introduction—Desert Aire

 

In January 2006, Desert Aire Corporation introduced a new industrial dehumidifier at a major annual HVAC tradeshow.  Prior to the show, I established the brand name for this new product, ExpertAire, as well as developed a comprehensive marketing campaign and PR blitz.  To generate “buzz” before the show, I created and placed a banner ad in the December ’05 issue of an e-newsletter published by a top HVAC magazine within the industry.  The ad generated double-digit click-throughs, a good indicator to us that there was interest in ExpertAire.  In January, I wrote and placed display ads in various HVAC publications.  To sustain the momentum throughout the rest of ’06, I also secured product releases and ads in several top HVAC magazines and e-newsletters.  All media and PR efforts garnered well over 500 responses.  Click the icon below to download samples of the ads and a detailed explanation of the entire campaign.

Seasonal Certificate Campaign - Scrub-a-Dub Car Wash and Oil Change Centers

 

I developed the Scrub-a-Dub holiday campaign to  revolve around the characters Scrooge and Tiny Tim from “A Christmas Carol.”  First, I wrote a brochure which was distributed to patrons just after they paid for their car washes to remind them of the opportunity to purchase gift certificates for the holidays.  The literature was supported by a radio ad that I wrote and directed using the same characters from “A Christmas Carol.”  The ad ran from the week of Thanksgiving through the week of Christmas on a popular Milwaukee AM talk radio station.  The client was pleased with the results and reported that she had the best sales to date for holiday gift certificates.
